Our Approach - Performance Fitting™
Club Fitting Categories
At Eclipse Golf, we have developed an in-depth process for custom club fittings. Whichever of the five golf club categories you are looking to perfect, you can trust our experts. We know how to determine your ideal fitting requirements by digging deep to understand your playing history, goals and unique traits. Couple this with specialist analysis of your swing and ball flight data we will go above and beyond to ensure you leave with club specifications that will enhance your game.
Driver Fitting
Confidence in your driver when standing on any tee is paramount to your results.
We will look at head model, loft, shape, head size, weight positioning, shaft sleeve setting, shaft model, weight, torque, flex, length and of course grip in order to optimise look, club speed, ball speed, feel, sound, launch, spin, apex, carry, roll, total consistency, accuracy and distance.
No stone is left unturned in our search for the best possible start to your round.
Utility Fitting
This category includes fairway woods, hybrids and driving or utility Irons.
Depending on your style, technique, ability and goals we will look at all the options to find out what works best to fill that crucial distance gap and shot versatility between your longest iron and the driver. You may be surprised what you end up with – the options are vast!
We will look at model, loft, shape, head size, weight positioning, shaft setting, shaft model, weight, torque, flex, length and of course grip in order to optimise look, club speed, ball speed, feel, sound, launch, spin, apex, carry, roll, total consistency, accuracy and distance.
Iron Fitting
Your iron set could have as many as 9 irons or as few as 4 irons. It all depends on how and where you play and where you are headed in terms of expected progress.
For example, you may end up with 3,4,5,6,7,8,9, PW and GW in your main iron set (9 irons) or at the other end of the spectrum you may end up with a smaller 7,8,9 and PW configuration (4 irons).
Typically, irons hit it lower than the equivalent clubs in the ‘Utility’ category and its only testing and making adjustments that will allow us to determine the optimum set and specification for you.
Much like the other categories we will look at model, loft, shape, top line, sole width, camber, radius, bounce, head size, weight positioning, shaft setting, shaft model, weight, torque, flex, length and of course grip in order to optimise look, club speed, ball speed, feel, sound, launch, spin, apex, workability carry, roll, total consistency, accuracy and distance.
Wedge Fitting
Your wedges are super important for your results out on the course.
They need to at least compliment your irons so the transition between your shortest iron and first wedge is seamless.
There are a lot of subtle design features in a wedge that can make a difference for you, and we will look at your configuration for lob wedge and sand wedge in particular but also ensure we blend any gap wedge and pitching wedge requirements into the iron set and of course consider the type of course(s) your normally play on.
We will look at model, cosmetic finish, loft, lie, bounce, grind and groove configuration, as well as length, shaft and grip.
Putter Fitting
Your putter is often the difference between a great round and one you despair of.
We need to pay significant attention to what is often known as the ‘wand’ in order to select a model that allows you to centre the ball every time at address, line up accurately, strike it out of the centre and make a smooth stroke that delivers accurate direction and great distance judgement.
We look at every element including model, face insert/grooves, alignment style, toe-hang, loft, lie, length, shaft and grip.
Golf Club Health Check
Learn MoreThe golf club health check is a professional, proprietary session we run that will require you to attend with your clubs for between 30 and 45 minutes.
In that time we will take a deep dive discussion into your game, take your static height, wrist to floor and hand size measurements, video/analyse your swing, as well as record your club delivery, ball flight and shaft loading data.
At Eclipse Golf, we know there are different types of golfer.
Whatever the reason you play golf, your equipment should work in harmony with you and your swing.
Your golf swing is unique to you and therefore your clubs should be too.
That is why we are passionate about custom fitting clubs that will compliment your game and let you be the best you can be. Our service does not end with the session either.
We want to know how you get on with the equipment after you’ve had it amended, repaired or if you have purchased new clubs.
Our goal is your satisfaction, enjoyment and improvement.
Your equipment is important.

Testimonals From Our Golfers...
I had the most amazing club fitting session with Rhys. His knowledge on club fitting is second to none, first up he makes you feel very relaxed and comfortable which helps so much. Nothing is rushed we tried many combinations of clubs and shafts until he found the right option for me. The follow up video of the days fitting is a great idea!
Absolutely fantastic experience thanks so much.
I first had a full bag fitting with Rhys at Eclipse Golf. The knowledge, advice and custom aspect of the fitting were phenomenal. Despite the man's ridiculous qualifications (look them up, seriously). What I loved was that he knew this was a once a life occasion for me and gave it the proper amount of energy, enthusiasm and professionalism.
Don't hesitate - go with Eclipse and you will not regret it.
